Logan's Last Day of Preschool

I can't believe he is a Kindergartener next year. He had a good time in school this year with his friends, and his teacher was really patient with the sometimes wild boys in his class. Logan had a good year, he now recognizes letters and numbers and is working on writing them. I put him in preschool this year hoping that he would get used to sitting still in a classroom setting since Kinder here is all-day. I think he will do fine next year.

Happy 5th Birthday Logan!!

Logan chose Chuck E Cheese for his birthday so we met grandma and grandpa, Marissa, and Kayla there to have some fun. Logan wanted a baseball cake and that was easy to do. He loved reminding everyone that he was the birthday boy all weekend long so that they would do what he wanted. He is so funny. We love you Logan!

Logan

is in pre-K. I am excited because I think he needs this in order to make it through all day kindergarten next year. I warned the teacher though- he can be a little silly and hard to deal with sometimes. But he is so fun to be around.

Logan's Birthday

Logan had to share his birthday with Alanna's dance recital day. I felt really bad about that since her dance recital day is rehearsal all morning and early afternoon with the performance that night. I tried to make his birthday special anyway with donuts for him when he woke up, and then an ice cream cake and presents when we got home that night. Then on Monday I let him have a swimming party with his little friends from playgroup. I ordered them pizza and brought cupcakes that Logan helped me decorate with Star Wars stickers. He had a great time so I think he still had a great birthday even though he had to share his special day with Alanna.

Seriously? Already?

Logan is turning 4 in a couple of weeks. I love this stage, he is such a fun kid. I only have one more year until he goes to school but it seems like just yesterday he was born. He loves Star Wars (still), movies, playing outside, swimming, and sports. He says he wants to play baseball and soccer this year. Kaleb is his idol and it is so fun to watch him try to copy Kaleb. When Kim took Logan to get his haircut he asked him how he wanted his hair to look and he said "just like Kaleb". He is such a sweetheart unless you make him mad- if you do- then watch out!!

Logan's Eye Dr Appointment

I took Logan to a Pediatric Opthamologist today to get his eyes checked out. Sometimes they looked a little off to me but I could never pinpoint what it was. We have great insurance right now so I felt like now was a good time to have them looked at. She said he has Optic Nerve Coloboma. Basically it is a disorder of the optic nerve that he was born with and can not be fixed. So we have to focus on getting the best vision we can from the left eye which is the affected eye. He has perfect vision in his right eye and his vision is good in his left so we don't have to do anything right now. Someday he may have to wear glasses or an eye patch a few hours a day to strengthen his left eye. His left eye sometimes wanders outward so if that worsens he may have to have eye surgery. So far it is not that noticeable. I am only telling you this so that if you ever notice his eye doing that there is a reason and his parents are aware of it. This should not hinder him from leading a normal life, but he will never have perfect vision.

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch with some friends from church. Logan has been asking to go back since last year. We have a really nice one close to our house with animals to feed and a little hayride.

Brady was not impressed.

Logan loved this truck.

Logan's Party

For his birthday party I surprised Logan with a cookie monster cake. I don't think he cared as long as he got to eat it. He loved opening gifts and said "oh yea" with everything that he opened. I made lasagna for lunch and invited family over to celebrate with him. I think he had a great day.

Happy Birthday sweet boy!

Logan is 3 today. He does not know that because we are celebrating with family on Sunday. I have never met a child that is so excited about his birthday. I hope it lives up to his high expectations! I am so happy he is in our family, he makes us laugh daily. At the age of 3 he loves Star Wars, treats, and movies. He is sweet but stubborn. The stubborn part must come from his dad.

almost 3 years old!!

Logan will be 3 next Friday so I went and had his portraits done. After he warmed up to the photographer he took some cute pictures. I can't believe my baby is going to be 3. (cross your fingers that he gets interested in potty training sometime soon!)

Welcome Spring!

Logan does this every time we go out in the front yard. He says they smell like watermelons.

This is what happens. . .

when you are the youngest of 4 kids. Black eye and peanut butter stained clothing. Nice. No, I did not lose my temper, Alanna hit him with the swing while swinging at grandma's house. Poor kid, that must have really hurt. His first shiner.

School Days

This is Logan's favorite thing to do while the older kids are at school. He used to be deathly afraid of the trampoline until he figured out how fun it is when the big kids are not there to bounce you around. He plays on it almost every morning and I love to watch him have such a good time, plus it helps wear him out for naptime!

Logan's Birthday Party

Logan had his birthday party Friday night. We had his 2 favorite foods- pizza and treats (cake and ice cream). He had so much fun eating which is his favorite thing to do! He wasn't too excited about opening his gifts but he is enjoying them now that they are open and out of the packages.

Logan's favorite gift- he couldn't wait for Grandpa to put it together.

I saw a similar cake idea on my friend Audrie's blog and FamilyFun.com. I could not find a dump truck I liked, but I found this cute wheelbarrow. I thought Logan would have a great time pushing this around the yard. I decided instead of doing "dirt" in a dumptruck I would do it in a wheelbarrow. At the last minute I decided to add gummy worms to the dirt and that ended up being Logan's (and the other kids) favorite part! The "dirt" looks gross but is actually chocolate cake and frosting with mashed oreos on top.

Logan is 2!!

Today is Logan's 2nd birthday. As I was writing this, Logan found a cup in Alanna's play kitchen and dumped cupfuls of water from the fridge onto the floor. Will it be terrible or terrific 2's?? I don't have a baby anymore, I have a toddler who says he is a big boy. So sad. Here are some goofy pictures I took of him at breakfast this morning:

School Mornings

This is what happens when you are getting 2 boys ready for school by 7:45 and you leave your almost 2 year old unsupervised. Hey, at least he got himself breakfast.

Logan has been tagged!

Elena's son Jake tagged Logan so here is 7 things you may or may not know about him:
1. Logan was my only baby that was not born with a head full of black hair. I'm glad he was a boy and not a girl since I could put bows in Alanna's hair when she was really young.
2. Logan was my second largest baby (8lbs 14oz) even though I had gestational diabetes and was on the STRICTEST diet. The doctor was sure he would be around 7 pounds. I have them large no matter what. The diet did help me get into my prepregnancy clothes within a week after having him!
3. Logan has learned to get into things that the other kids never bothered with (peeling wallpaper off the wall, pushing chairs around the kitchen to climb on top of the cabinets and stove). But he is so cute about it that it is hard to get upset with him (or maybe since he is the 4th kid I am too worn out to get upset with him??)
4. Logan was a pretty easygoing baby. He was content to sit and watch life and go with the flow. This is changing some as he approaches 2 years old.

5. Logan loves to eat. Most of his first words had to do with food (eat, treat, pizza, waffle, fries, yum, etc)and he loves going out to eat also.

6. Logan loves to play outside, he seems to have such a short attention span unless he is out in the backyard.
7. Logan's favorite toys are puzzles and Alanna's play kitchen. We are trying to talk her into passing it on to him but she is not ready to give it up. Now that Logan can open doors he sneaks into her room to play with it whenever he wants. It is cute to watch.
Now Logan tags Jesse and Susanna.

Last week's happenings

Logan sleeps in what used to be Kim's office. He must have gotten bored during naptime so he decided to redecorate for me. Luckily I was planning on taking this down anyway and repainting. Thanks for helping me, Logan.

Another trick he learned:

Success!

Fortunately I had saved all my doorknob covers from the other kids.

Photo Session

I took Logan in for his 2 year old portraits 2 months early because my portrait club card was expiring plus I had a coupon. Cheapskate, that is how I buy everything. Here are a couple of pictures that I loved from that day, most of them were cute, it took him a little while to warm up to the photographer, but once he did she got some great shots. We had a hard time getting him to drop Buppy from the pictures, but I like having him in some of them so I can remember it as his favorite. We have a picture of Kaleb with his bunny too.
