Halloween 2009

We did our usual Halloween tradition- walking the neighborhood trick-or-treating until the kid's bucket's are so full they can hardly carry them. My sister and her ladybug Madelynn came with me which was fun. Madelynn was an angel and slept the entire time. Brady was done after about 20 minutes. Luckily his daddy came and picked him up from me. The kids had a great time and I am letting them gorge themselves on candy all day today, then it gets put up on a high shelf.

Alanna the princess with her stash

Kaleb was Super Mario

Ross was Harry Potter (I think he looks a little like him anyway!)

Logan was Darth Vader (he is a Star Wars fanatic)

Brady my skeleton

Family Night

It was dark so I could not see the faces they were making until the flash went off. Goofballs.

Halloween Party

Kim and I went to a Halloween party last night- we were supposed to dress up as a famous couple. We had a hard time coming up with something so we ended up going as the devil and a pregnant nun. HAHA We had a great time.

Disclaimer: I know I have some Catholic readers, I grew up Catholic myself, this is JUST A JOKE!!

Halloween!!!

Bumblebee

Batman

Fairy

Cowboy

The kids had a great Halloween. We have always had good luck trick-or-treating around our neighborhood, and the kids finally got tired by the time their buckets were overflowing. Logan loved it too, I couldn't believe how much he walked carrying his bucket with one hand and holding a piece of candy in the other hand. His bucket was full before everybody else's- people would hand the other kids one or two pieces of candy and give him a handful. And the really great thing about this Halloween was the fact that the kids came up with their costumes and I did not have to buy anything!! Kaleb wanted to wear Ross' from last year, Ross wanted to make his own costume from what we had in the toy box, Grandma gave Alanna her fairy outfit for dress-up (and I think she had found it at a garage sale), and Logan wore one that Alanna wore at his age (I had a tough time deciding if it was okay for a boy to be a bee, but decided it was fine when I saw how cute he looked). Anyway- it was a great night!

Carving the Pumpkin Family Night

Well, 3 are smiling and 3 are looking at the camera- about as good as it gets.

We carved our pumpkin and had our annual Halloween safety family night lesson last night. Each of the kids got to choose one part of the pumpkin to design, and we did it with no fights! Success!!
