Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope you have a great Valentine's Day! I got the kids a little bouquet of heart suckers. Like they won't get enough sugar at school today.

Valentine Party

Today I had our church's playgroup at my house- I decided to do a little Valentine's party. The kids decorated bags and exchanged Valentine cards, and they decorated sugar cookies too:

I was not sure how many kids to expect, and there turned out to be quite a few. I hope nobody felt cramped, there were people and toys everywhere. Alanna had a great time, Logan was not too sure what to think. He mostly followed me everywhere and ate cookies.

Valentine's Gift

I made this for Kaleb's Kindergarten teacher. I am going to put sprinkles, icing, maybe another cookie cutter (that is one hanging off of the top) so she can have a "cookie kit" to decorate Valentine cookies. She has young children so I thought they would think that was fun. Yes, I am one of THOSE cheesy moms. This is an empty quart paint can that can be bought at Home Depot. They are fun to make. I like to do nice stuff for her, she has made Kaleb's year great so far. I was wondering how this year was going to go. His teacher for the first week of school was escorted out for reasons nobody wanted to talk about (I heard rumors of what happened, but since they are just rumors I don't want to mention them here, let's just say no children were in danger or anything like that). The note we got said she was let go for reasons that were beyond the school's control. Nice. Needless to say he was confused about why he had a totally new teacher the second week of school. She made it so that the kids hardly noticed. She is an experienced Kindergarten teacher and knew how to make the transition for the kids run smoothly. We are happy with her and hope we can request her for Alanna next year!
