My Turn

Terri tagged me to write six things about me that you probably don’t know. This is a hard one so we will see what I can come up with.
  1. I don't like driving in rain, snow, or at night. When we lived in Idaho I pretty much became a hermit the 8 months of the year it snowed. One day I slid right through a stop light with Ross in the back seat, freaked me out so much that I refused to drive in it anymore. If it is raining here I will change my plans to avoid driving anywhere. I know, I need to get over it.
  2. I have OCD when it comes to cleaning my house. I don't like dishes in my sink, I wipe the kitchen counters if I see one crumb, I vacuum at least once a day (sometimes after every meal), I constantly wipe down the bathroom with Clorox wipes, and I am always picking up toys. Why, you wonder?? I don't know. I like a clean house, but I need to stop going overboard. Hey, am I freaking you guys out yet??
  3. I love to read. The problem is that I read extremely fast so I run out of books and authors that I am interested in. I'm always looking for suggestions. Oh, and I am on the waiting list for Stephenie Meyer's latest book, then I won't know what to read for a while.
  4. I am extremely scared of snakes. I won't go near them in the pet store or the zoo, I avoid camping or hiking if I think there is a possibility I might see one, I stopped going to my friend's house when I found out her brother had one. We have a dog that stays outside so I feel safe letting my kids out to play.
  5. I started dance lessons when I was 3 and continued all the way through college. I love it, still do. I wish I could continue it now but it would take me a while to get back in shape again, plus I don't feel like I have the time. Hopefully when the kids are all in school I can do something with it. I keep hoping my sister, who is an awesome dancer, will open her own studio and let me teach a class or two. (This might explain why my only daughter is encouraged to take dance, she can stop if she wants to, but I hope she doesn't).
  6. When I was in high school I told my mom that I would never have kids. Then in college I decided I would like 1 or 2, but hopefully they would both be girls. I did not want any boys. I did not want to be one of those moms at every sporting event, finding rocks and frogs in my son's pockets, with a noisy house. I wanted little girls that were quiet and played dolls. Then I had my 3 boys and 1 girl. I'm still wondering how I ended up with 4 kids and 3 of them boys (yes, I do know the science of it, that is not what I mean). The funny thing is- my little girl does play with dolls, BUT she is NOT quiet. My quietest child would be one of my boys. My house is noisy and I am at a lot of sporting events, and yes I do find rocks all over the house, but luckily no reptiles yet. I'm glad I had my boys.

Now I tag anyone who wants to do it, but I would love to hear Amy's answers.

Oooh! I love these things. I only knew about #5, the dancing. I did not know about the driving or the housecleaning.

P.S. Did you see my new link to goodreads? It's what I'm reading with ratings. I am out of stuff too and need to find a new book to start.

I will take your tag! By the way, the "Amy" blog is deleted. Just have the Amy's "Wild bunch" one left.

You should be in our Book Club!! I'd LOVE it if you came. This month we are reading a Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. There's always great treats involved too :-)

I love your list! I totally become a hermit in the winter too- although it's mostly because I hate being cold. :) And I love that you dance!!! My mom is in her 50s and still tap dances. It's awesome.

hehe...those were funny. I did notice the house cleaning thing. But hey! At least you'll always have a REALLY clean house and whenever anyone stops by, there's no worry it'll be dirty. Do you have any videos of you dancing? That would be fun to see. I'd always wished I'd been allowed to do some type of dance of gymnastics as a kid. Oh well. That's funny about how you only wanted two girls. hehe...fun to read!

I forget to check your blog, doh! You are always commenting on mine too. I am such a dork. I knew that you are a clean freak, but I think it is awesome! Will you come to my house next?
